Art. 1 — Nature of the Project

Milano: Home Away From Home is a non-profit, student-led cultural initiative aimed at supporting and showcasing emerging artists whose practices are shaped by their experience of living in Milan.

The exhibition is non-commercial in nature. The organizers do not facilitate sales and do not retain commission on artworks. Any sale or transaction remains the sole responsibility of the artist.

Art. 2 — Participation

Participation in the open call is free of charge.

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and submit a complete application through the official submission platform.

The organizers reserve the right to exclude applications that:

• are incomplete
• do not meet the eligibility criteria
• do not comply with the technical requirements

Art. 3 — Selection and Final Decision

The selection process consists of:

• Initial screening by the curatorial team
• Final evaluation by the Art Advisory Board

All decisions made by the curatorial team and the Art Advisory Board are final and not subject to appeal.

In cases of ambiguity or lack of consensus, the final decision rests with the organizing team.

Art. 4 — Artwork Ownership

Artists retain full ownership and intellectual property rights of their works at all times.

Participation in the exhibition does not imply any transfer of ownership to the organizers.

Art. 5 — Image and Reproduction Rights

By submitting an application, participants grant the organizers the right to use images, videos, and documentation of the submitted artworks for:

• communication and promotion
• digital and print materials
• exhibition documentation and archival purposes

This usage is strictly non-commercial and related exclusively to the exhibition and its communication.

Art. 6 — Artwork Delivery and Collection

Selected artists are fully responsible for:

• transport of artworks to and from the exhibition venue
• all associated costs
• packaging and handling

The organizing team will coordinate schedules and logistics but does not cover transport costs.

Art. 7 — Installation and Technical Requirements

Artists must ensure that their works:

• comply with the technical specifications outlined in the open call
• are ready for installation
• include all necessary equipment or instructions

The organizers reserve the right to:

• request adjustments
• refuse works that are not feasible within the space
• adapt installation solutions based on spatial or technical constraints

Art. 8 — Insurance and Liability

The organizers will exercise due care in handling and presenting artworks. However:

• no insurance coverage is provided
• the organizers are not liable for loss, damage, or theft

Artists are strongly encouraged to arrange independent insurance where necessary.

Art. 9 — Withdrawal

Selected artists who wish to withdraw must notify the organizers immediately.

Withdrawal after 17 May 2026 may:

• impact participation in future initiatives
• result in exclusion from the exhibition program

Art. 10 — Data Protection

Participants' personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

Data will be used exclusively for:

• application management
• communication
• exhibition-related activities

The organizers will not share personal data with third parties without consent.

Art. 11 — Force Majeure

The organizers shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or changes resulting from circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to:

• technical issues
• venue limitations
• public safety concerns
• unforeseen events

Art. 12 — Modifications

The organizers reserve the right to:

• modify the exhibition format
• adjust timelines
• update installation or logistical conditions

Any changes will be communicated to selected participants.

Art. 13 — Acceptance of Terms

Submission of an application implies full understanding and full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
